Priceline Hotel: New York City 8/23 to 8/28

Hey!

I need your advice, looking for one room for me and my boyfriend from 8/23 - 8/28, hoping not to pay over $150per night.

Is there a chance getting a 4* or 3,5* Hotel somewhere really close to the centre?

What would be your desired star rating, and which PRICELINE zones would be acceptable for your travel plans?

Additionally, are you looking for a budget of $150 "all-in" (including taxes/fees) per night or $150 + taxes/fees?

This period of the year is usually not one of the more expensive times of year in NYC, but if there are events going on or traffic is higher than normal, prices could still be on the higher side.

My desired star rating would be 3,5* or even 4*, if thats somehow possible.

My favorite zones are: Central Park South, Empire State Building Area, Madison Square Garden - Convention Area , Midtown East, Midtown West, and of course Times Square - Theatre District. My less favorite but also possible are Chelsea Area, Upper West Side, Upper East Side and Hells Kitchen.

I'm looking for a budget of maximum 150$+ taxes/fees.

With 6 months before your stay and plenty of time to bid why add zones which you're not that favorable on?

What do you want to do first...

Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is price the primary objective and you're looking for the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay?

Do you want to include all potential zones in your bidding or only your preferred zones at this time?

Are you willing to bid up to $150 at this time?

First I want to include my preferred zones I think...and I'm willing to pay more for a 4* hotel.

I'm not that often in New York and therefore I want a really nice hotel :)
