maria6229 Posted February 21, 2011 Author Report Posted February 21, 2011 We are going from May 15-May18, and we are interested on MTE, MTW, ESB, CPS for around $110 without taxes is that possible 4*to 3* no less
thereuare Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I'm doubtful $110 will be enough for this time of year, if you want to give it a shot, did you want to try for a 4* first up to your limit, then if rejected a 3.5*, then if rejected a 3*... or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? Also, based upon your answer, i'll have some further comments regarding zone choices; however, in the meantime, is there a reason you're not including Times Square? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... please click this PRICELINE link before replying. maria6229 Posted February 22, 2011 Author Report Posted February 22, 2011 TS should be fine if you think there is a possibility, I know we may have to look somewere else but dont know what are the best possible areas that would give us quick acces to NY and best hotel for the price, I was thinking maybe Brooklyn or Long Island City?
thereuare Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 As noted above i don't think you're going to be successful at $110 or less for this stay, but including as many zones which are acceptable increases your chances simply by giving more hotels the opportunity to accept your bid. With the above noted, i don't typically recommend 3* bidding in the MTE zone or the CPS zone as the former has some hotels which can be a 15+ minute walk to the subway, and the latter has the Hudson Hotel which has notoriously small rooms. HOWEVER, if your alternative is to stay outside of the city then i would include these zones (assuming you're ok with a tiny room and/or a 15+ minute walk to the subway) as i think either of these compromises is better then staying outside of the city in Brooklyn or LIC. (and perhaps Downtown as well)If you are able to increase your budget i'm guessing that $140-$145 starts to put you in the range of reasonable expectations of getting accepted.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
