scuvell Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Hi,I have used your bidding plan sucessfully before but I recently ran into an unforseen problem. I was looking for a 4 star hotel on The Big Island of Hawaii and wanted it in the Waikola/Kohala Coast area. I checked the 2 other areas and neither Hilo nor Kona had 4 star hotels, but Kona had a resort. I purposely did not select Resort and only selected the 4 star option for Waikola. I bid 125 and did not win, I then selected Kona and bid $130, winner but in Kona at the Sheraton Resort. I called Priceline to complain that had I wanted a Resort I would have selected that option but to no avail. Policy being that if a hotel of higher rating wants you, you get them. I am disappointed but thought I might share that with you and BetterBidding Users.Be Careful.
thereuare Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding!Sorry to hear you received a hotel in the zone that you didn't want, but as you now know, the star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, and PRICELINE will always attempt to upgrade you to a higher rated hotel whenever possible. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the date(s) of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.It would be appreciated if you began to share all your wins with the board so that the information can help others, just as you have been helped by those who have posted before you. Please also use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
