bellenga Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Hey everybody! Am a new member here and glad to be a part of this board! If possible, could you please help me ID this hotel? I want to also thank you in advance for your help in this! We're going in early April for my little boys' spring break from school. :) 4*, Orlando Condo, Disney Main Gate/Celebration area $101. 4/6/11 to 4/10/11Tripadvisor rating is apparently 4 of 5 starsHere's the specs:1-Bedroom Suite Fully-equipped Kitchen Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Daily Housekeeping Pool(s) Restaurant(s) 24-hour Front Desk High-speed Internet Access Condo
bellenga Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 Also, the dates I put in are from 4/6/11 to 4/10/11 if that also helps.Would like to add that the resort has one particular interesting feature in the description, it offers either a free breakfast or free continental breakfast, which is something I havent' seen in the description of the other area 4* condos.Does that help a bit more?
bellenga Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 MORE information:There is a $15/day resort fee added.Also here's the price breakdown:101.00 per night4 nightscharges and fees of $62.52for a total of:________________$466.52
yellowdog Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I'm sorry to say that a 4* property with this amenitie combo has not yet been reported/ID'd to the board. But a guess would be Mona Lisa Suites. They are running this special with comp breakfast from time to time. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.Yellowdog.
bellenga Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 Thanks Yellowdog and I will book thru here if I end up going w/hotwire. If not, am considering taking a deal I found for about the same for 2 br villa at Holiday Inn Vac. Club @ Orange Lakes. Here's the main amenities that are listed without expanding and showing every single available amenity if this will help.condo1 bedroomfully equipped kitchensmoke free roomscomp breakfast or continental breakfastdaily housekeepingpoolsrestaurantsThere is a separate icon I believe, for suites versus a condo and this resort clearly states it is a condo so I don't believe it's Mona Lisa Suites though.
thereuare Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 The Mona Lisa Suites is considered a Condo thru HOTWIRE's amentiy description/icons.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! Please follow-up this thread with whatever you decide to do for this stay and let us know if we can be of further help. bellenga Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 Wow that is wierd that it is considered a condo b/c it's definitely a hotel when you look at the site for it. Hmm.Thank you so much for that information and I will follow up on that thread when I decide to pull the trigger and either go with doing it myself or with PRICELINE / HOTWIRE.I will continue to read up on some of the suggestions and get even more familiar with everything here! Thanks so much for all of your help everybody!

bellenga Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 @Thereuare: I think you are absolutely right about the resort being Mona Lisa Suites..and while it's gorgeous, it's not really what my son would like. Were it a trip for my husband and I? We'd probably love it! :) So...I'm going to try to see if ya'll can help me figure out two more resorts!Fwiw, I booked thru priceline three years ago (was my son and I only on the trip) and used a link thru this site to book, and got for 4* Omni Championsgate for like 88 bucks (2008). It was great for the two of us, and now since it's all of us going, we prob need a condo resort. So, I'm going to head over to the new thread to try to figure out which resort is the best one for us and the best deal :)
bellenga Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 Here we go again! This is a trip for the 3 of us, and we need a little bit of space! It's me, my hubs, and our son! What's behind door number one? Looking for a good deal, and a great spot! It's so fun trying to figure out which resort you get, albeit last time I tried this, I used PRICELINE, but alas, they don't have condos on their roster of places to stay. :)Thanks so much!
thereuare Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 We'll have a look tomorrow when you post the details for the second property... this way we only have to do one search :) Also, please post only the amenity names (not the descriptions) as it makes your post easier to read (in the post above you've used a combination of both)Are you ready to commit to a non-refundable purchase at this point in time? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! bellenga Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 Thanks will do!I have to admit, I love a good puzzle and this is kinda like vacation + puzzle = savings! Which is awesome. :) Wish we didn't need that extra bedroom or I'd go the priceline route. :)
bellenga Posted February 11, 2011 Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 Thanks everybody! Hope you're all having a good night and glad to see somebody else here got a great condo deal in Orlando :) Here's the info on condo #2!4* Lake Buena Vista/Downtown Disney area condoprice: $82/dayRate per night: $82.00 Nights: 4 Rooms: 1 Tax recoverycharges & fees: :$50.72 Subtotal: $378.72 Amenities:resortkitchenfree parkinglaundry (in room)fitness centerpool(s)restaurant(s)24 hr front deskhigh speed internet accesscondo*Now one interesting thing is the layout of each condo. The 1 bedroom and more expensive condo appears to have the traditional condo setup, with a separate bedroom from living area and kitchen. In the layout of the $82 condo, it would appear to be a studio condo setup. Does this information help a bit more too? Thanks everybody for trying to help ID these two for me! :)

bellenga Posted February 11, 2011 Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 Done! Am checking rates again this morning.
yellowdog Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 bellenga4* Lake Buena Vista/Downtown Disney area condoBest guess would be Bonnet Creek Resort with a slight diffrent amenitie combo.4* Hotwire Sea World/I Drive North Condo ResortBest guess would be Sheraton Vistana Villages. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link, and let us know how it goes.Yellowdog.
bellenga Posted February 11, 2011 Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 Thanks Yellowdog!I will def use the link here to book...will be checking out online prices for both of those resorts as well as the Santa Maria Suites and comparing to see if I am getting a good deal.I think that would be a good deal for the Vistana Villages and for bonnet creek, but would love to book the bonnet creek (if it's that one) but am concerned a bit about the diagram at the bottom of the page w/the amenities and booking info where it shows the description and photo of the room. Doesn't appear to be a true condo with separate bedroom and living area, appears to be a studio setup, which is a combo living/bedroom with separate bathroom.Could it possibly be (Seaworld I drive) the Hilton Vacation Club I drive or Seaworld location? I do know those hotels have the studio types of setups and on Expedia/tripadvisor, etc, is described as a 4* property???
yellowdog Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Doesn't appear to be a true condo with separate bedroom and living area, appears to be a studio setup, which is a combo living/bedroom with separate bathroom. That is just a sample they show at HOTWIREYellowdog.PS. The 4* LBV/DTD could also be Blue Heron that is upgraded to a 4*
bellenga Posted February 11, 2011 Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 Oooh the blue heron looks pretty! I saw it earlier today on tripadvisor. Thanks Yellowdog! Also saw another compadre on this site is inquiring @ what appears to be one of the same 4* condos for maybe 2 weeks before the time we're going.I'd sure love it to be either the blue heron or the bonnet creek. :) wow. I also didn't know that the diagram of the floorplan of the condo or hotel room they put at the bottom of that page isn't the real one. My only fear would be we'd get there, get a great, awesome resort, and it turns out to be a combo livingroom/bedroom with one bed and three of us. We like our son to have a bit of his own space, either having his own room and us having the master, or him having a sofa bed and us in the master bedroom. (he brings his video games alot). Thanks again!
bellenga Posted February 20, 2011 Author Report Posted February 20, 2011 Went with the PRICELINE link and got it for $82!Started off bidding with $70 for Resort, Disney Maingate and also I Drive North. Had to rebid 2x, ended up getting Omni Championsgate! I have stayed here before and it's really wonderful.Would seem that the Championsgate is consistent in this biddding amount, and that if you bid lower you'd get (just my opinion) the Gaylord Palms.Ironically, my last bid using this tool a few years ago, was with the same result..Omni Championsgate! It was a perfect vacation. I was treated wonderfully there. Stayed over my son's birthday weekend, and they surprised us one night with a gorgeous dessert and candles for him (9th birthday) and chocolate dipped strawberries. Outstanding customer service at that hotel. Thanks to everybody here. Originally I was looking at going with the Hotwire condo choice, but seriously thought I'd get a far better $ deal going the Priceline route. One interesting fact for you if you haven't stayed here, it is a pet friendly resort. You can bring a pet under 25 lbs (dog or cat) and they have a stylish doggie walk/ bathroom area for them outside. Nice grass, private lamp post and doggie bags to pick up after them in the dog walk area! They even brought my small dog cookies at check in!Absolutely fabulous resort, and also one of the best pools in the US! I believe TripAdvisor gave it the top award for best pool within the last 2 years.Ended up going back today and adding 2 more days (originally I was scared, and only bid for two days) but added in the extra two on 4/8-4/10.So to Orlando we go!
AaronJB Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal and glad to hear you are looking forward to a return stay. Additionally, sharing any prior wins with the board would be greatly appreciated, as the information does help others.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
