Please use the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links on the board each time you access the respective site to bid or search.

To clarify what you have already tried... your topic tittle mentions $130 but the body of your post mentions $120... how high have you already bid and which zone(s) did you include in that bidding? What is your maximum bid for this stay? Have you include Mayfair-Soho in any bidding yet?

Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly.

yes, sorry. i have tried up to 130. zones on the bidding were bloomsbury first.

then added hammersmith and wembley. i started at 120, then 125 then 130 with the last zone. i didn not include mayfair-soho yet. didn't know how it affects the bidding when you add in a zone with 5stars, since bloomsbury only has 4star max.

I don't think adding the Mayfair-Soho zone at the 4* level is going to help much for these dates, but to give it a try:

At the 4* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Bloomsbury...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 4* Mayfair-Soho...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 4* Bloomsbury and Mayfair-Soho...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130

Any questions feel free to ask.

tried it with all your advice. no success.

when you mention Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

does that mean, do the exact same offer and try again?

i basically used that link to try the next offer set you mentioned. wasn't sure if attempting the exact same offer process would change the fact i was rejected the first time.

so basically now, what do i do? just wait a couple days and try again hoping the hotels will change their pricing?

It shouldn't been the exact same offer as the first bidding 'cycle' ($105-$115) included Bloomsbury and your two re-bid zones (it did not include Mayfair-Soho)... the second bidding cycle ($105-$115) included Mayfair-Soho and your two re-bid zones (it did not include Bloomsbury)... the third bidding cycle eventually included all four zones and increased to $130.

Are these the bids you made?

If your bids up to $130 have been rejected your choices come down to:

1) wait it out and hope for lower prices in the days/weeks ahead

2) lower your star rating

3) increase your maximum bid

4) add other nearby zones which may also be acceptable

5) SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID

ok correct. i did all 3 of those bids. bloomsbury only, mayfair only, bloomsbury and mayfair.

in regards to options now, yes, since we do already have a hotel and can cancel within 24hrs, i'll just keep trying. is there a specific timeline these hotels typically update their inventory or cycle?

our current reservation is nearby paddingston station. $120 a nite.

Grand Royale London Hyde Park

ranked well, not so hot on the ratings from reviewers. and it's a bit far from the main districts of touristy stuff, so we wanted to find a better deal for a couple bucks more.

At the moment $130 is not enough in just these two zones... you'll either need to increase your maximum bid or expand to other nearby zones.

I looked up the hotel you have saved and it looks to be a 3 1/2 star in Notting hill area and you are right the reviews on TA are not very good. I am just wondering why you would not be willing to bid all zones that are at least as well located as that zone instead of just the bloomsbury and mayfair/soho zones. I would think your chances of getting a 4 star in your price range would be greatly improved if you add zones that are less expensive (like the one you are currently booked in) and you would probably get a nicer hotel than the one you currently have held. Just a thought
