Bustergordon Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Hi - looking to bid for one night at CDG (4/2-4/3). Hotwire is showing a 4* for $99, with the following amenities: restaurant, business center, high speed internet access. No fitness center makes me believe this is neither the Sheraton nor the Hilton.Any ideas? Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 This property has not yet been reported to the board. However, if you change your search to 2adults/2children a 'new' 4* hotel appears in this zone for the same price with: Breakfast, Restaurant, Business, Laundry, InternetI suspect that these are likely the same property, but can't be for certain, and this property has not yet been identified either. I did try to research it but can't find anything which matches all the amenities as well as the star rating. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide to do for this stay and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Rhine-and-Roses Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I wonder if Bustergordan's CdG hotel could be the Sheraton with amenities changed? If you go into their ratings, it shows all 4.5 and and 95% satisfaction, which is exactly what my recent Sheraton purchase showed. When I was looking (over a three week period) at times other hotels came up, but none had the 95%, and none had the 4.5 rating for "location" like the Sheraton did.
Bustergordon Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 Interesting. I'm a bit too chicken to bid for fear of getting a couple of really bad sounding CDG hotels. I'll keep an eye on this though and see if the amenities stay consistent...Thanks!

Rhine-and-Roses Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I got it, BusterGordon! I was able to match up the known Sheraton amenities (Fit, Rest, Bus, HSIA) and 95 % satisfaction rate with the hotel you were looking at! I did this by reading the reviews. I found an identical review at both hotels! (Mention of a baby cot and place to recuperate on Feb 4, 2011) There was also a review on the hotel you have been looking at (the one with just three amenities) mentioning free wifi only in the lobby. Sheraton's site mentions free wifi in the lobby. So there you go, it looks like they are alternating the amenities on this hotel. I found this once before with the Westin Frankfurt, which is why I suspected it this time, too.Of course it could always be some other hotel, but then Hotwire would be guilty of putting the same review on two different hotels. I printed the screen on both as "proof" Good Luck!
Bustergordon Posted March 15, 2011 Author Report Posted March 15, 2011 Wow, awesome detective work! Thanks! I'm going to give it a go and report back.
Bustergordon Posted March 15, 2011 Author Report Posted March 15, 2011 OK, used the HOTWIRE link above and got the Sheraton - rate was $103. Interestingly, the amenity list now includes the fitness center, which was missing originally.I'm very pleased - this was where I wanted to stay, so thanks everyone for the help!
