bobatea Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Boyfriend and I are planning a trip to NYC for 5 nights, from 3/10 to 3/15.We are looking for a 3* hotel, and we have a limited budget of $100/night included tax.Yup, we are students so we are on a really tight budget. Any input for a bidding strategy would be appreciated. If it's impossible to get a room in Manhattan, then Long Island city would be ok.I looked around on HOTWIRE and, for that dates, I saw a 3.5* in Downtown-SoHo-Financial District for $103, and a 3* in Brooklyn for $85. We might have to go for that as the last resort. Thanks

thereuare Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 I think within Manhattan this is going to be a tough win within your budget (maximum bid $85??) but did you want to try all the Manhattan zones first up to your limit before adding Long Island City... or are you looking for the least expensive out of any of the zones above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. bobatea Posted February 20, 2011 Author Report Posted February 20, 2011 :) Followed exactly what you suggested and I got the Club Quarters WTC, 3.5* for $80/night , before tax. $495 total for 5 nights. The location is great: inside Manhattan and next to Metro.
