SenatorM Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Started at $85 in the Theater District (looking only for 4* hotels) and worked up in $3 increments by adding zones that did not have 4* hotels. Eventually added Boston Harbor Front - Aquarium and Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial (which do have 4* hotels) and was rejected through $100. I then added the Boston Waterfront-Convention Center and went back down to $99 and Hit. With taxes and fees the nightly total was $118.12. Through the Westin's website, the nightly rate is $239.00 and with charges & taxes, $273.54. I'll pay $40 less than that for two nights.I ignored the counter offer suggestion at $90[suggested $110 bid]. I might have saved a little by waiting to bid closer to the check-in date but I preferred to get the reservation completed to be done with it. Reviews for the Westin are very good but the location is somewhat far from most of the city's attractions.Happy bidding.
