Scott88 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I booked this stay today. I saw the $49 rate from a previous post this month, and I won it on my initial bid. Makes me wonder if they would have gone any lower. Either way, a great deal for my needs. This Sheraton is across the street from the metro station, so it will be perfect for getting to the 9:30 Club on the yellow line this weekend. On an unrelated note, has anyone on these boards ever heard of users basically being blocked from winning bids with their Priceline account? The last few times I've tried to book a hotel deal on a trip, nothing had been hitting on Priceline. I was going above comparable winning bids on this forum and nothing was accepted. Finally, once I bid for this 3.5* Crystal City hotel and it was rejected up to $55, I decided something had to be wrong. Sure enough, I opened a different account, entered in the same credit card, and I won the hotel on a $49 bid ten minutes later. If there's any explanation for this, I'd love to know.
AaronJB Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Nice deal and glad to hear that the hotel will work well for your travel plans.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
Scott88 Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 Aaron, any idea about the second paragraph of my post. Have you ever heard of something like that happening before. Seems so strange.
