Hotwire Hotel: 4* Ft Lauderdale (Hollywood Beach) Westin Diplomat

I just won this hotel, I was so nervous bidding that it would be the Country Club location. I'm so happy that it's not, although I'm sure it's also a lovely property!

I have stayed at this hotel twice before (also hotwire wins) and I LOVE it!

I should also add that this was listed as a "Hollywood Beach Area" hotel and there was an option for a bed choice:

The Westin Diplomat Resort And Spa

Funny i was just looking at the same hotel description on Hotwire for the first week of May. Exactly the same amenities, 4*, recommended 95%. From reading other posts I figured it might be the Westin Diplomat however I'm skeptical because of the price, $90 per night (but it gives you a bed choice, $100 for a king). Since you stayed there before is this really the Westin Diplomat? I mean is there a cheaper tower I'm not seeing which is why it costs less? Or are you actually staying in the main tower that loks like an H? Also it's says Near Beach, from what I can tell the Westin Diplomat is on the beach. I don't think it's the country club as there is another offer for the same at 4.5* but that one says boutique and no mention of a beach, I think this one is the westin country club.

When I booked this there was also another option of a 4.5* which was cheaper at $105/night but was listed as a Boutique.

The first time I stayed it was in April of 2010 and I paid $128/night and it was listed as Near Beach, and I actually received an email from Hotwire saying they had a mistake in the listing and it's not actually "near beach" and they credited me half of reservation back in hotdollars for the inconvenience. I was shocked to see when I arrived it was actually ON the beach!

The second time I stayed was at the start of May in 2010 and I booked for $79/night (total steal!!) and it did not list that it was "near beach"

I am probably confusing you even more! I'm sorry! But, it does sound like you have found the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa for $90, I got a great deal for early May of last year, so it does make sense!
