Roook22 Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 I read my message and clicked the HOTWIRE link. Can you please help me ID this hotel. This offer has only been available to me from Hotwire for the last 24 hours. The last hotel for this time period that Hotwire was offering me only had an 80% traveler review rating.Thank you
AaronJB Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 This amenity set has previously been reported with the Hyatt, Swiss and Felix. It is most commonly associated with the Hyatt, as that is the biggest property in the city and often fairly aggressively uses discount services in order to fill rooms. However, I'm seeing a 4/5 tripadvisor rating on the detail page (you can confirm this as well by clicking on the 'see details' button, then scrolling halfway down the detail page - there should be a tripadvisor logo and 4/5 circles shaded.) The tripadvisor rating on HOTWIRE is not updated in real time, and while the Hyatt may have been 4/5 at some point recently, it's currently 3.5/5 and has commonly been that for a couple of years. The Felix has also commonly been 3.5/5 in recent months (although again, may have been 4/5 briefly at some point recently.). The Swiss is 4/5.Given all that, out of the three hotels previously seen with this amenity set, I wouldn't say that this couldn't be the Hyatt or Felix (it definitely could), but would lean a bit towards the Swiss.I'll also note that these dates are on the expensive side, in part likely due to the season or possibly if there's something going on on these dates. I'm not seeing anything else at this price point, and a number of properties at the 4* level for these dates are $300+. Personally, I'd suggest taking this rate - and HOTWIRE listings can change (both in terms of price and inventory) at any time.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Roook22 Posted February 12, 2011 Author Report Posted February 12, 2011 Thank you very much. It was the Hyatt Regency Chicago and I used your HOTWIRE link to book it. I am very happy with this hotel selection and thank you again for your help ID'ing the accomodations.
AaronJB Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)I think this is an excellent result for what looks like busy dates - the Hyatt is $255 non-refundable/$299 refundable for these dates. Additionally, this property is centrally located right by the river and just off Michigan Ave.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's HOTWIRE link.Enjoy your stay.
