lokomoko Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Can anyone suggest any tips for bidding for the Venetian for June 11 to June 13 (Only Sat and Sun nights required). On the V web site, Sunday is a $149 night special so I should be able to get it for $99, but with the Saturday being so much higher should I split this or what price do you think I can get the nights for without splitting?I tried bidding $99 and expected it would fail as it did. I also tried $125 for the 2 nights together.Priceline returns with a counter offer of $193 per night. Thanks
thereuare Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! At this point in time i would try as high as $135-$140 for both nites together.By splitting the bid i think you would come out averaging about $150-$165/nite or so (plus taxes and fees)... if you want to go this route we can help you with each side of the purchase.Let us know what you decide to do and/or if we can be of furthe help. lokomoko Posted April 19, 2005 Author Report Posted April 19, 2005 Thanks. I need to wait 72 hours before bidding again so I will give $135 a try then.
thereuare Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Did you use all of your re-bids? There are lots of them when bidding 5* on the strip. Also, i wouldn't bid $135 right of the bat... better to use re-bids to increase gradually (if you're not familiar with re-bidding please ask for help). If you'd like a more specific strategy let us know if you have already used all of your re-bid opportunities (above it sounds as if you only made two bids) and we'll take it from there whenever you are able to bid again. lokomoko Posted April 19, 2005 Author Report Posted April 19, 2005 Sorry I am not all that familiar with re-bidding.I believe I can rebid if I add another zone, in which I would want to add a zone that I know a 5 star does not exist. If this is the case I can add each zone 1 by 1 and increase $5 every time, correct?
thereuare Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 You got it.You can read more about re-bidding and how to determine which zone(s) qualify as re-bid zones in this thread: PRICELINE BIDDING AGAIN BEFORE 72 HOURS.Feel free to ask any questions you may have and we'll walk you thru it. lokomoko Posted April 20, 2005 Author Report Posted April 20, 2005 I bid upto $140 but was not able to get it.Should I wait until the date is closer?I tried to do a split of $99 for just Sunday (it is listed as the $149 suite special on the Venetian web site for this day) and this also was rejected.
