pitrow Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 I had gotten the New Orleans Marriot in the French Quarter for Friday, 3/25/11 to Sunday, 3/27/11 with a winning bid of $84 a night. (here you can see that priceline winning bid)I needed 2 rooms for the Thursday before for myself and a work colleague for just that one night. Was hoping to extend my stay at the Marriot for a day earlier, but no rooms were available at that rate through Priceline and didn't want to pay well over $200 for the same room I was already paying $84 for.I opted to bid for 2 rooms for that first night, looking downtown as that's where our conference is on Friday.Maybe should've bid lower since I won straight off with my first bid.I saw on Hotwire what looked like the New Orleans Downtown Sheraton for $75/night so I went ahead and put in a bid of $67/night for two rooms and won straight away.
thereuare Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Congratulations on your win!Sorry to see you were able to get the same hotel, but fortunately the New Orleans zones aren't too big geographically and it won't be too far from one hotel to the other.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
pitrow Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 The hotels actually look like they are pretty much right next to each other, but I think on opposite sides of the street. No big deal. It actually works out fine for what I need and don't mind the two different hotels.Great site by the way. Very useful and full of great info. And I do always use your PRICELINE links. :)
AaronJB Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Thank you so much for your compliments on Betterbiddng and for using the site's PRICELINE link. Both are greatly appreciated. :)
