I see NH Amsterdam Centre and NH Carlton as coming up when people bidfour stars in that area.Help in any regard appreciated !
jmc99 Posted February 5, 2011 Author Report Posted February 5, 2011 We have three in our group and need assurance that if I bid on a4 star hotel in Amsterdam that we will be bidding specifically on a room to accomodate three people--as in three beds.If anyone has information about the rules regarding getting a triple please reply.
AaronJB Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)PRICELINE guarantees double occupancy/one bed. One can request alternate bedding with the hotel once the bid is made, but the hotel could say no (either for policy or availability reasons) or may require paying more (an upgrade.) HOTWIRE guarantees bedding for the amount of people indicated, but that could be 1 + sofabed or 2 beds. There is no way to guarantee particular bedding with either service. HOTWIRE would be the better choice in this case, but it would still not guarantee an exact bedding option. What would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 If you need 3 beds in one room i don't think PRICELINE or HOTWIRE is going to accommodate your needs... if you need a room to accommodate triple occupancy, then HOTWIRE (while searching for 3adults) may work for your needs... but as per above, note that the second 'bed' could be a rollaway, pullout sofabed, etc. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too!Let us know what you decide and how you'd like to proceed and we'll try to assist from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

The idea that only Hotwire would guarantee that three people would be accomodated may send me to a travel agent rather than bid.
jmc99 Posted February 6, 2011 Author Report Posted February 6, 2011 My earlier post on the Priceline board received replies telling me that Hotwire should be used to bid for triple rooms in Amsterdam, Brugges, and Brussels.Further, a third bed may be a rollaway or sofa. That may or may not prove worth pursuing bidding.I may need to surrender to a travel agent given the vagaries of what you book in Europe for three. If anyone has had positive experiences booking 4* in these three places using HOTWIRE, please share them.It appears the bidding idea is better suited for booking for one or two per room.Thanks.
marialena Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Nh Amsterdam Centre will charge you 80 euro for a 3rd bed.I think you should better bid for 2 rooms :)still a bargain!with your budget i find it possible to get 2 rooms!!
