Started bidding at $80 for Downtown/French Quarter.

Actually needed 3/24-3/27 and wasn't getting it.

Changed to 3/25-3/27 and eventually got:

The New Orleans Marriot

555 Canal Street

3/25-3/27 at $84/night

My bids:

1. Downtown, 3/24-3/27, $80 - FAILED

2. Downtown, 3/24-3/27, $82 - FAILED

3. Downtown/French Quarter, 3/24-3/27, $83 - FAILED

4. Downtown/French Quarter, 3/24-3/27, $84 - FAILED

5. Downtown/French Quarter, 3/25-3/27, $84 - FAILED (Saturday, 12:20pm)

6. Downtown/French Quarter, 3/25-3/27, $84 - SUCCESSFUL (Saturday at 2pm)

The interesting thing is I made the same bid twice, once just after noon and it was rejected, then again a couple hours later and it was accepted.

So now I just need to hopefully get a good rate on the same hotel for that first night (Thurs, 3/24)

I tried to extend my stay through Priceline and it said it wasn't available at that rate. Interesting that the cheaper rate is available Fri and Sat night, but not Thurs.

Very nice deal - possibly new inventory became available between the bid not being accepted and it being accepted the second time.

Please start a new thread for the separate date and we would be happy to help. Possibly something going on (convention/etc) causing higher rates on Thurs.

There is a conference down the street on Friday I'm going to, but probably only 100-200 people would be going to it and most people will be staying at the Intercontinental as it's attached to the conference venue.
