bpete Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 I've seen lots of winning bids as low as $12/day for MCO around the same time. I'm up to $45/day for midsize and don't even receive a counteroffer. Is this just a case of bad timing, or am I doing something wrong?
thereuare Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I've seen lots of winning bids as low as $12/day for MCO around the same time.Rates are date specific and even one day can bring about a big change in rates. If i'm not mistaken, your dates occur over President's Week for a lot of schools which likely brings a lot of people to the Orlando area for Disney Family vacations. As a result, there is high demand for rental cars and prices reflect that... similarly, the rental companies are in a position of strength and don't need to discount rates very deeply (if at all)What is the best rate you're able to find thru convenitonal booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. bpete Posted February 7, 2011 Author Report Posted February 7, 2011 Thanks for your reply. I figured that was the case...Using the HOTWIRE link, I can get a midsize for $55/day, $220 total for 3 days. I'll keep plugging away with slightly lower bids. Thank you for your help!
