cdsmith24 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I have been doing lots of reading and I have checked prices direct with hotels and also checked for Promo codes...unfortunatley for us this is a busy week to be there and not a whole lot of deals to be had! This is what I have tried already...yesterday we bid for 2 rooms North strip 5* for $100.00 and it was not accepted ( not surprised!)We would be willing to go to a 4* North as well..from my research this is what I can see:5* North-prices direct booking with hotel -Venetian $1145.00-Palazzo $1145.00-Wynn $4066.004* North-prices direct with hotel-Treasure island $1115.00-Mirage $1365.00-Ceasers palace-n/aAny help, suggestions or tips for us? This is our first time using priceline, we were hoping to only have to go to a max of 150.00 per night per room..is this realistic? Thanks!Christine
cdsmith24 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Just want to make sure I understand the rebid process:1ST Bid of $100 made for 5* north was refusedso do I now add a zone..from what I can see there are 6 zones in las vegas area that do not have any 5* hotels:-West of strip-East of strip-fremont-North las vegas-henderson-boudler hwy areaso if I add one of these zones it should-in theory-still give me one of the 5* north on the strip properties that I have listed above?i guess i shoud add that I have two bid profiles going as there is 4 of us..thought it might be faster than waiting the 24hours!
thereuare Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! It appears you're using the 'retail' section of PRICELINE to determine your re-bid zones and that's NOT the correct method as the 'retail' section of PRICELINE and the 'bidding' section of PRICELINE each use different zone names and boundaries.See this link: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and see if you can determine your re-bid zones and confirm your re-bid zones with the board (you actually have ELEVEN re-bid zones at the 5* level in Vegas) If you read the previously link and are still confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cdsmith24 Posted February 3, 2011 Author Report Posted February 3, 2011 Ended up with Treasure Island at $150 a night...I don't think we could have got into one of the 5* for this price, prices are really high that week..so we are happy with it..great location!
AaronJB Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Definitely not a bad deal, with regular rates at $235.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
