RENLAUBRI Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Having read a previous winning priceline bid post yesterday with the exact travel dates as mine (March 4 & 5) relating to San Juan I went to PL and used the same information. Result, bid rejected. Decided to try again today increased by $5 and again bid rejected. Bid resort then 4 star. Any suggestions? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 This may be an issue of inventory if it is for the same night. Are you staying for one night or two? What would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
RENLAUBRI Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 It will be a two night stay. March 4th and 5th. Budget?? I guess I will spend what it takes but would like to fall into the same range as others. Maybe low $100 for resort $90's four star. I will try again today. Keeping my fingers crossed.

thereuare Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 While not ideal for a 2 nite stay, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? (you'll need to change hotels mid-stay but can probably get something each nite for less than you have already bid)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and if an option we'll detail further.. I checked it and did notice on Hotwire by splitting the dates the price did drop considerably. Based on that I am giving this some thought. Will report back.

thereuare Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Congratulations on your success!Sorry you didn't receive the same hotel for each leg of your purchase, but as i mentioned in your other Hotwire Hotel thread, the amenities above are not the same for each property. At the very least you did receive a nice deal for each purchase and hopefully you can make this work well for your plans.Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase.Have a great trip!
