thereuare Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Welcome (finally) to BetterBidding... we've been waiting for your first post :)You mention bidding (PRICELINE) but this is posted in the HOTWIRE section of the board and there is no bidding HOTWIRE... which service is it that you're hoping to use for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
solstice30 Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Posted January 31, 2011 I'm more of a learner/lurker than a talker. :) Sorry, I did post this in the wrong section of the forum. I've never used Hotwire before. It appears that I need to place a bid first and then come to the (right) forum.
AaronJB Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 This area is (usually) very reasonable, although with the upcoming snowstorm, rates might head higher due to stranded travelers. With PRICELINE, there is no way to bid on a particular amenity (suite, kitchenette, etc), although on HOTWIRE you can see if there is a listing with a suite or kitchenette icon showing for your dates. When searching on HOTWIRE, are there any listings of interest?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
solstice30 Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Posted January 31, 2011 This is what Hotwire lists:Area B - OHare (ORD) North3* $634* $113Area P - OHare South3 1/2* $684* $113Not sure how to figure out which is a suite or not. Looking at Google Maps and trying to figure this out now.
AaronJB Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Can you list the amenity icons showing with each? Thank you.Additionally, the HOTWIRE listing should show an "S" (Suite) icon for a suite listing. If the property has a kitchenette, there will be a kitchenette icon.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

AaronJB Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 The 4.5* South would be a possible match for the Intercontinental; the 3.5* North suite would be a possible match for the Sheraton Suites. My guess for the 4* North would be the Westin. The 3* North has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. You included a 4.5* for $125. I'll note that the Embassy Suites O'Hare is $139 on Expedia and coupon code FROST11 takes $10 off - $129.While the Embassy Suites isn't a 4.5* (it's 3.5*), you would get a suite, free breakfast in the morning and evening reception. So, while not as upscale, it's a suite and lots of freebies for $4 more. Please let us know if you have any questions before booking.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE or Expedia links to start your purchases and searches.
solstice30 Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Posted January 31, 2011 Thanks AaronJB! I'm going to look into Embassy Suites when I get home! Thanks for all of your help...and I will click thru before I purchase.
AaronJB Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Happy to help! :) Thank you for keeping us updated and for using the links. Good luck getting through the blizzard if it does happen within the next couple of days.
