emilia_h Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Hi, I tried to bid several days for 4* 4/17/11~4/24/11 in MTW/MTE/CPS/TSQ areas.Followed recent posts and tried to bid using re-bid zones, still no luck.I started at $120 and ended with $160. My budget is up to 170(not sure it is realistic, if not, what rates should I expect?)Any advice will be helpful. Thanks in advance. : D
thereuare Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I don't think you're too far off... but is ESB also acceptable? If so, i think within another $20 might be enough.Let us know if you're also willing to accept ESB and your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. emilia_h Posted February 1, 2011 Author Report Posted February 1, 2011 I guess 4* in ESB zone will be also good for me, still I prefer MTW, MTE, CPS, TSQ though.Set my maximum $20 up to $190.Appreciate any help.
thereuare Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 I guess 4* in ESB zone will be also good for me, still I prefer MTW, MTE, CPS, TSQ though. Are you willing to pay more to stay in one of the original four zones and try there up to your new budget... or will price ultimately prevail and you'd like to include ESB in your budding and seek the lowest price is any of the FIVE zones?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. emilia_h Posted February 1, 2011 Author Report Posted February 1, 2011 I see what I posted was a little confusing. 1) I'd like to add ESB zone with original budget first. Price prevails. 2) If bidding on five zones is not working, I'm considering set my bid up to $190 on original four zones.I'm wondering what should I do in both cases? Since schedule is nonchangable, I'm afraid if I couldn't get it. really appreciate your help : )
thereuare Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 OK, so to confirm we're bidding for a 4* up to $170 for all FIVE zones (including the ESB zone)... if that is rejected then you want to try up to $190 in just the original FOUR zones. Assuming i have it correct...At the 4* level in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.MTW/MTE/CPS/TSQSelect 4* MTW, MTE, CPS and TS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* ESB...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTW, MTE, CPS TS, and ESB...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175 (if you want to make the extra $5 bid... if not, just stop)Any questions feel free to ask.If the above is rejected just post back and we'll revise to try again in 24 hours. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. emilia_h Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 I followed what you recommended and finally won Kitano in ESB zone for $170 per night. First two, bidding for four zones and ESB only were rejected. Then, starting with $150 to MTW, MTE, CPS, TS and ESB, they told me up my bid to $190, I kept raising my bid $5.Thank you so much for all of your help.I'm so glad to succeed within my original budget.4/17/11 ~ 4/24/11Kitano Hotel$170 per night

bobcats12 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 I've been following this thread because the dates and preferences are similar to mine.STILL confused though. If I close the browser and re-access through the PRICELINE link, doesn't my account info. still remain on priceline? How do I clear the previous zones and start low-bidding again like you recommended a few posts up?Thanks!
thereuare Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Following the strategy above, each bid is unique, nor a sub-set of any previous bid, so there is no duplicate bid issue. Are you familiar with re-bidding? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained)If you want to discuss further feel free to continue this by replying to your current Priceline NYC thread.
