bellasnow Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Hello! I am new to this board and love the wealth of information! Looking for a hotel in London for March 4 & 5 (2 nights). I am hoping to book the Novotel St Pancras because it's location is very convenient to the Eurostar that I will be catching. Can someone give me some advice? When I bid I've been picking for this area:Bloomsbury-Marble Archat a 4 star level. Is it a guarantee the Novotel is the one I'd be bidding for? I have seen that Thistle Bloomsbury is in the area but it seems most people get the Novotel? My bids get rejected and I keep getting a counter offer (I'm bidding from $90 -$95) and its asking me to go up to $115. Hoping to get around a $90 per night range. Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates. What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for this stay thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
