I was interested in three zones - Fort Lauderdale Beach, Hollywood and Pompano.

Bid as follows with the use of free rebid-zones available at the star level:

4* $70 to $90 - 8 bids (I know, didn't use the fancier permutation method for more bids, but I was tired)

3 1/2* $70 to $90 - 6 bids

3* $70 to $90 - 4 bids

2 1/2* $65 to $80 4 bids

Almost gave up here. Figured I'd have to explore the $90 to $100 the next day, but then decided to check out the 2*s first.

2* $60 and planned to do $65 and $70 but hit at $65

I'm delighted with the results. The best rack rate for my nights is $140.

Have to admit, I was aiming for a hotel more on the beach. This one is 6 miles due south of the airport and as far west in the Hollywood zone as that map bulge will allow (I checked). However, my reading suggests there is good public transport in the area. And the bid results came with a better rental car offer than I'd been able to find on my own. Not sure which way I'll go with that.

I'm wondering if there will be a fee for parking. Their web site was silent on that. Looks like free breakfast is included for everybody. I'll review the stay when I return. Reviews are mixed on tripadvisor, with more recent ones being more positive.

Now, on to Key West for the other two nights.
