Not having much luck, but wanted to at least post what I've been trying for info purposes. Tried bidding in $5 increments for 4* hotel in downtown going from $50 to $100 over two nights with no luck. Just tried 3* hotels near Airport for $70 and $75, also with no luck (not as many areas to rebid with at 3* level, since most of the areas have at least 3* hotels). My guess is Friday nights are busy nights for the hotels and so not many deals in the price range I want to pay. We have gone ahead and made a reservation near the airport just so we have something locked in, and I will probably try again a few days before we leave.

I am having a difficult time too. I am trying to bid on a pre-cruise hotel (using the PRICELINE link) for March 5th in Miami. My cruise leaves on March 6th. I have tried 3.5* and 4* all the way up to $100. I have selected almost all of the areas as part of my continual bids...I have been bidding for 3 days now to no avail. Good luck to you!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Sorry to hear your bids haven't been successful. Just to be able to compare when researching, what are the details of your back-up reservation?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links and for keeping us updated.

I tried a week ago with no luck (see previous post regarding failed bids for Miami, pre-cruise). Tonight I tried again. Bid once at $75 for a 3.5* hotel near the airport and it came back and asked me if I wanted to raise my price to $95. I declined and increased my bid to $80 and added a new area (with no 3.5 star hotels) and it was accepted.

I looked at Priceline's listing for this hotel (if you don't "name your own price") and it was $149/night, down from $169/night. I don't think I've ever stayed at a Doubletree before so I'm not exactly sure what to expect, but I'm very pleased with the price.
