AaronJB Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Good evening. :)Please provide a follow-up for your prior Las Vegas Hotwire thread and Los Angeles Hotwire threads (post in those threads what you decided to do for those stays, then reply to this thread and we would be happy to look into the above listing. Thanks.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
retfar Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 Thanks, Aaron. I've updated both of those threads now. Plus I added a San Francisco booking I just made to help the other forum readers. :)
thereuare Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 The property above matches both the MGM Grand and NYNY so either of these would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
retfar Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 Thanks. I've stayed at both before and liked them both, so they would be my number 1 and 2 choices of Vegas hotels for this trip. I'll let you know how I go. :)
retfar Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 Oh, well, I went to book it using your HOTWIRE link and asked for two rooms and then the hotel has disappeared. It does come back if I just request one room. Do some hotels only allow one room to be purchased through HOTWIRE at a time? I don't want to book one room at a time just in case it doesn't come back as an option for the second booking.
yellowdog Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 retfarDo some hotels only allow one room to be purchased through Hotwire at a time?Yes, everything depends on how the hotels have loaded inventory to the HOTWIRE system. So it's always important that you search for the correct amount of guests and rooms in your initial search. And some hotel have a limif of 2 guests per room.I don't want to book one room at a time just in case it doesn't come back as an option for the second booking.Good thinking :) Let us know how we can help you further.Thanx for using boards HOTWIRE link :) Yellowdog.
retfar Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 Hi there. Still looking for a hotel in Vegas. This one is 4* Las Vegas South Strip. 4 stars.April 21-26, 2011Amenities:Casino, Fitness Centre, Pool, restaurant, business centre, high speed internet, golf nearby, tennis nearby, spa services, 85% reviews$97 a nightAny help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)
thereuare Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.Best guess for this 4* is the MGM Grand. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
retfar Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 I did think it might also be MGM, but it's got 85% rating and seems to have more amenities listed. I am scared I might get Monte Carlo. Although there is a 5-star for the same period for $124 which I suspect is the Wynn. So I'm even looking at maybe getting that. Just watching to see if it goes down some more. How often do the list of hotels change? Seems like it's the same price and hotels for a few days already and hasn't changed, except for a couple.
yellowdog Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 retfarI don't belive this is the Monte Carlo. But you're correct, one never know.Just watching to see if it goes down some more.Rates can easily go the other way also. LV is very unpredictable when it comes to rates. How often do the list of hotels change?Sorry to say that we don't have an informative answer for this that will help you to decide hotel.Keep us updated. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
retfar Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 Thanks, Yellowdog. :) I'll just keep looking at what's on offer in the next few days and let you know what I end up doing.
retfar Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 I'm currently looking at Hotwire to get a hotel for April 21-26 and I've posted over at the Hotwire forum for help as well. I thought it just might be worth trying Priceline as well and maybe get a cheaper price. I would love to stay at a 5* North Strip if available. Seeing from the list of 5* North Strip hotels, it's only Wynn, Venetian and Palazzo, right? I don't mind any of those. I see on Hotwire there's a 5* North Strip for $124 (which I'm guessing is the Wynn), so I'm thinking I might be able to get that lower through Priceline. Any suggestions or bidding strategies would be much appreciated. And I'm looking for two rooms. Thanks!
thereuare Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 The Wynn, Venetian and Palazzo are the only 5* hotels reported to the board in the Strip North zone, but you could always be the first to report a new hotel or a hotel recently upgraded to the 5* level. Are you ready to begin bidding now? If so, what is your maximum bid for a 5* property for these dates? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. retfar Posted January 29, 2011 Author Report Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah, I'm ready to begin bidding. I would say $125 is my maximum bid. Thanks! :)I know I can get it for $124 from HOTWIRE, so any higher and I will just go to HOTWIRE. Plus I'd be happy with any 5* hotel, even one that has been upgraded besides those three we mentioned above. As long as it's on the Strip.
thereuare Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip North...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
