slamduncan Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Hello, i am a new user i hope this is the right place for the thread. We are 13 people and planning to go in may 25th to 29th.Thinking on bidding for 6 rooms ( since it shows thats for 1-2 people) on 5* hotel (venetian, palazzo, wynn) here are my questions:1) Is it too crazy to bid for 6 rooms?2)do you think i can then check in the hotel to pay for that extra person in a room (6 rooms * 2 = 12, missing 1 person)3) If i bid on 5* in the strip North i will get either wynn, palazzo or venetian? there is no way that if the bid is accepted they will give me other hotel?4) As you see theres still lot of time until the travel date, seen people win the bid with 85-155 is it harder because its more rooms? or should i start with 85?Thank you very much in advance, sorry for my grammar Eduardo
thereuare Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!1) Is it too crazy to bid for 6 rooms? No, not at all crazy... if you need six rooms then that's the right number to bid for :)2)do you think i can then check in the hotel to pay for that extra person in a room (6 rooms * 2 = 12, missing 1 person)Likely, but no guarnatees. As well, many of the 5* hotels are configured with one King bed and a pullout sofabed, so assuming that would work for the room with 3 guests, then you may not have any problem at all.3) If i bid on 5* in the strip North i will get either wynn, palazzo or venetian? there is no way that if the bid is accepted they will give me other hotel? There are no guarantees with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE... these (as well as the Encore) are the 5* hotels which have been reported to the board in the Strip North zone, but there could always be a new hotel added and/or a hotel already reported upgraded to the 5* level.4) As you see theres still lot of time until the travel date, seen people win the bid with 85-155 is it harder because its more rooms? or should i start with 85?Rates are date specific... given your dates include weekend nite rates are likely going to be on the higher end of the range (and possibly even higher) What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. slamduncan Posted January 28, 2011 Author Report Posted January 28, 2011 Thank You very much for the response.About the max. amount to bid it depends, i found on those dates on hotwire what seems to be palazzo or venetian at 1120 (taxes included) 4 people 4 nights. So per person per night its 70 taxes included. So changing this numbers to 2 person rooms, would be the max 140 per night (including taxes)So I was thinking around 480 per room. So final answer would be to bid 110Thanks
thereuare Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 I'm not following your math nor am i seeing the prices you're quoting. This is what i'm seeing:6rooms/12adults = $168/nite per room4rooms/12adults = $206/nite per roomHow many rooms/adults are you incluing on your various searches and what price(s) are you getting for each? (please use pre-tax/pre-fees room rates)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... and your searches too! AaronJB Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 I'll note that Expedia - when searching for four in the room - has the Venezia Bella Suites for $194.01 (plus $70 extra person fee per night), only a penny more than the regular room. Additionally, you get $150 in resort credits. (See Expedia for details)$150 in Amenity Credits
thereuare Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I'm not sure if $110 will be enough for a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone, but if you want to give it a shot...At the 5* level you have ELEVEN re-bid zones.
