canadadrygreentea Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Hi there, First time Priceline user here need bidding advice on the following...Dates: Fri. Jan. 28 - Tues. Feb. 1, 2011 (4 nights)Location: Downtown Toronto NorthMedian retail hotel price (from Priceline): $63/night Ideal Budget: $40-45/night (is this realistic? Any higher and I will have to cut to 3 nights)Your help would be greatly appreciated and I will use your PRICELINE links/post back if I'm successful. Please reply ASAP (I'm posting via mobile phone so excuse the messiness)PS I tried scoring this area last summer during peak season but was unsuccessful
canadadrygreentea Posted January 28, 2011 Author Report Posted January 28, 2011 I'm also willing to bid $40/night on 2* hotels in the same area but the median price was $20 higher @ $83/night
thereuare Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Not sure if $45 will be enough for a 2.5* property, but if you want to give it a try, in the Downtown North zone you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 2.5* Downtown North...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45If the above is rejected not sure if you want to try for a 2* hotel OR reduce the number of nites to three. If you want to try again at the 2* level i'd just bid $45 as you don't really have any time to cut corners. Please use the search box on the top right corner of this page as it will enable you to bid thru the 'regular' PRICELINE interface from your smart phone.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
