I used the "calendar of wins" to check recent prices in NYC. Upon seeing another member's (Monskeysee) $88 rate for the W Hotel recently obtained using BetterBidding's PRICELINE link, I followed his lead and put an $88 bid in for a 4* in MTE or MTW.

After being rejected, I went to $95ntight for a 4* and booked the W New York Hotel for the coming weekend.
