iboardsnow13 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I would like to bid on a 5* hotel in Riviera Maya. When I look at the hotels available in Riviera Maya there is only 1 5* hotel, and 9 resorts available. If i name my own price for Riviera Maya 5* is available as an option, does this mean that I will be getting the one 5* hotel listed in Riviera Maya or is there a possibility I will get some different hotel? Thanks in advance!
yellowdog Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach is for the moment the only reported 5* hotel. But hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at any time. As well, the geographic boundaries of an area are subject to change. So i can't promise you that you will get that hotel but there's a good chance that you will hit this.If you would like to get help with a bidding strategy so please post your budget/night befire tax/fee. Also please post your dates for this stay.let us know how we can help you further.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
arboretum Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Fiesta Americana is in Cancun North Hotel Zone not Riviera Maya. Priceline seems to be hard on the Riviera Maya for Feb, hotels are full and not biting unless you get close to the regular price. Different story in Cancun, prices are up to 75% below listed so start low.My experience is that I have never got a hotel that wasn't listed on the regular Priceline site as available in the same area of the map (but watch the zones since they are different on the regular site and the "name your own price" site). I have used the "only five star in the zone" trick before and got the hotel I wanted. They don't guarantee this though and there is always a first time.
