natpick Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Hi im looking at staying in San Diego 30th April - 4th May, looking for 4* + in downtown, but really dont want the sheraton (which really should be classed as an airport hotel!) was also looking at the US Grant, has anyone won this at all? My budget is $100 pn, but the less the better!
yellowdog Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 It's reported both at PRICELINE and HOTWIREUse this link: San Diego Hotels and choose HOTWIRE or PRICELINE hotels.Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
thereuare Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Note that even though the Grant has been won before, there is no way to bid on a specific hotel or increase your chances of winning, or avoiding, a particular property... you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone you select at the minimum star rating (or higher) that you choose. If you're trying to target a specific property HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can take a guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities shown (or avoid a particular hotel if, for example, the hotel you're trying to avoid doesn't have a pool, then you can safely purchase any HOTWIRE hotel which shows a POOL icon and know that you won't be receiving that property). As well, the zones in this area are different on HOTWIRE, as they have a "Gaslamp Quarter" zone which may be more inline with the geographic boundaries of the area you're hoping to stay in.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. natpick Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 30th April - 4th May.. Started bidding from $65 Downtown area 4*.. added rid bidding zones +$5 when i reached $85 i thought id try it +$3 from then on..ended up with this hotel..would of prefered one downtown, but hey, i was pretty sure i would get this so i dont mind! its still a bargain and is quite central for the things we want to do - seaworld, Zoo etc.. plus its only a 3m walk into town so cant be too bad :)
