weksa Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 1st time bidderBidding history:4* San Jose (San Jose) $504* San Jose (Cupertino - Campbell) $504* San Jose (Sunnyvale - Santa Clara) $504* San Jose (San Jose South) $503.5* $503* $50 -- acceptedPayment:3* Wyndham Hotel San JoseYour Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 (Retail is $80/night)Subtotal: $350.00Taxes & Fees: $56.42Total Charges*: $406.42Impressions: I'm pretty happy with the savings and location. The one disappointment is that there is no free Wifi in your room. I called Wyndham and the representative said that you pay your own contract via AT&T Wifi. However, the hotel lobby / guest room / "business center" does offer free Wifi; you just need to be in those particular rooms with your own laptop.I used the PRICELINE link at the top of the page.
weksa Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 Okay, I should add more bidding history. The bidding history listed above was the process I got to win, but there was more beforehand that all got rejected.Bidding history was a bit erratic, using some combination of:San Jose (San Jose)San Jose (Cupertino - Campbell)San Jose (Sunnyvale - Santa Clara)San Jose (San Jose South)San Jose (Mountain View)3*2.5*2*$40$45After all that failing, I was impressed by previous posters who got $45-50 deals on 4* hotels, so I used the bidding process in my first post, keeping my bid price at $50 in hopes that I might get a 4*. But if not, then I could go down to 3* because $40-45 didn't work earlier. AND all this was within a few hours.
