rob1218 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 I am taking my gf to vegas for our 6 year anniv. and im hoping to get Wynn/Encore or PH Towers Westgate.. for the best price possible.. Do i have decent chances of getting one of these hotels?? I did not see these on the priceline map so im not sure if Priceline is the proper route for me to go?? Would hotwire be a better route?Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Dates: 3/10/2011 to 3/14/2011Also I will defiantely use the links here on the board.. And will also be making a donation to the forum via paypal. Thanks for your advice.
thereuare Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you're trying to target a specific property HOTWIRE is usually a better option as you can take an educated guess as to what is offered based upon the amenities, and any other clues, shown before your purchase (although still never any guarantees)... with PRICELINE you're subject to any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating (or higher) that you select.Searching HOTWIRE for your dates there is a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone at $135/nite (your price may differ by a few dollars) with:Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa(the SPA icon won't be visible unless you click CONTINUE next to this offering, then click the 'See all' link above the amenity icons)This matches both the Venetian and the Wynn so either of these would be the best guess for this one. However, if you also look at the page after clicking CONTINUE and scroll down, you'll that this HOTWIRE offering has a 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating. This is consistent with the current rating for the Wynn, whereas the Venetian's current rating is 4.0/5.0... which would make this offering most likely a match for the Wynn. NOTE that the TA info shown by HOTWIRE isn't updated in realtime, so there is still a bit of a risk that the TA rating has changed since HOTWIRE's last update, but this one would appear to most likely be the Wynn, and that would be my best guess.Would this offering/price work for your needs? Feel free to ask any questions you have regarding the above. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
