You can get some great deals for Singapore hotels if you stay during the weekend. Lots of business travelers come in and out of Singapore on weekdays which makes the rates higher.

This was a pretty late minute booking. This was also the last weekend before Chinese New Year (Singapore is synonymous with shopping and sale events). Add to that I'm crossing the weekend boundary and into the business travelers' window so I expected to be bidding higher.

Never won Goodwood Park Hotel before but from the site, it looks great. Previous wins were 5* Hilton on Orchard ($97 Aug '10 - weekend) and 4* Holiday Inn ($111 Jan '10 - weekday).
