twaliwali Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Hello there ...Just got the hotel I was hoping for - Marriott West Palm Beach PBI for $65.Bid $61 yesterday (Following a previous poster who got the same hotel for the same night I needed), was rejected, but was offered the opportunity to rebid if I added $15 - which would have taken me to $76. Did not do that on the advice of this board, waited until today and got the room for $65. Clearly Priceline is trying to take advantage on a consumer's perceived need to lock up their plans and still offer a good deal, but as the advice states, don't take the bait and wait a day if you can. This hotel is showing up at $210+ on marriott.com and everywhere else. Good score! My purchase:Marriott West Palm Beach1001 Okeechobee BoulevardWest Palm Beach, FL 33401561-833-1234 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $65.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 1Room Subtotal: $65.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $15.47 (USD)Total Room Cost: $80.47 (USD)
