Brian Hammerhead Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I love this board!3* SpringHill Suites Orlando Convention Center - $385/30/2011 - 6/8/2011 (Extended stay!)Amenities: Suite, Smoke Free Rooms, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access.The amenities matched the hotel list perfectly so I was pretty sure that I was purchasing the SpringHill Suites.Of course, I used the Hotwire bidding link from this board.Note, the price for this hotel was originally $40 per night when I first started looking at Hotwire about a week ago. It dropped yesterday to $38.I am very pleased with this hotel and the price.
Brian Hammerhead Posted January 23, 2011 Author Report Posted January 23, 2011 More info:I just called the hotel (SpringHill Suites Orlando Convention Center).The going rate on their web site is $95 per night for the period of our stay. $99 per night if not a "long-term rate".My rate: $38 per night x 9 nights + $52.25 taxes = $394.25.60% off!I am confirmed for 2 Queen beds. The Suites also have a pull out hide-a-bed!There are no resort fees or any other mandatory fees. Just the room and tax paid through Hotwire.Microwave, Mini-Fridge, Silverware, table and chairs in room.They will provide paper plates and styrofoam bowls on request. No cost.Free breakfast buffet: Eggs, Sausage, Fruit, Pastries ...Free Wi-Fi and/or Wired Internet in room.Free Parking. Free Shuttle to Epcot. There is a pool, but no hot tub. However, you can use the hot tub at the Residence Inn next door for free.Coin-Op Laundry on property located on even numbered floors (7 floors at this hotel). Get coins at the front desk.They asked about my Marriott Rewards number and then added it to the reservation. I thought that normally these "paid in advance" discount hotel sites excluded rewards. We will see.I love Marriott properties!
