brookfieldgirl Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 2/2/2011 through 2/3/2011Looks like a nice place, the website says the stay includes parking.
AaronJB Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal for this well-located boutique property. I'd check regarding parking; I believe parking is only free for certain kinds of cars, such as hybrids.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
David V Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Curious as to free parking in Chicago, I looked it up. Unfortunately AaronJB is correct, parking is free for hybrids only. Otherwise, its $42/night for valet. They do have a park and stay rate that saves you a little bit, but only if your reservation costs more than $299/night, the package rate.Enjoy your trip to Chicago! Heading out for there in June...
AaronJB Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Thank you for the note and definitely let us know if you need help with your Chicago stay! There are quite a few public garages around this property just a little to the West of the Michigan Ave area - most of them are probably $25-30, although some may be as much as $35. Unfortunately, parking in Chicago is expensive. Many of the suburban hotels offer free parking, but then it becomes taking the train 30-40 minutes to get downtown. The Metra trains are nice, but takes time to get to the station and then wait for the train and get downtown. If rates are expensive in the city and the suburbs are much cheaper (which is not unusual in the busier months), then it's worth considering, especially if driving - those willing to take the train in in the Summer can save on both the hotel and free parking. However, if the difference between the suburbs and the city is quite minimal (as it is now and is generally between January and around mid-April), then it's best to stay downtown.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
