I want to book one night on June 11, 2011.

I'm getting $182 and 95% recommended on the North of the Strip.

These are the amenities as listed when I clicked see all : Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services

I have clicked on your HOTWIRE link to get these results.

Thanks for the reply, I heard both of those were nice, but are they worth the price? I'm considering the Golden Nugget for $99, after looking through their website and review websites I was impressed.

It depends...

Have you been to Vegas before?

One nite is not your typical Vegas stay, so is the purpose of this stay to explore the area, work, business, tourist, etc? If work-related, how much free time will you have to explore? Do you want to gamble most of your time in Vegas or 'hotel hop' and see the different attractions/sights that the hotels produce to try to lure you into their establishments?

Will you have a car?

This is my first time in vegas. We are going from the 11th of June to the 19th. We will be staying in Condos on the strip from the 12th to the 19th with our friends. The girlfriend and I decided to go a day early to get an extra day in Vegas. Since we will be staying on the South side of the strip for most of the week, we wanted to stay somewhere away from there to explore another part of town for one night. This is why I was intrigued by the golden nugget. Hope this answers your questions.

Since you'll be staying on the strip for the balance of your trip Downtown should be fine for one nite... it's good to see 'old school' Vegas and explore that area a bit, but don't wonder off of Fremont St as the surrounding area isn't that great)

The Nugget is the nicest of the Downtown hotels, but it still doesn't have the 'over top pizazz' of the 5* Vegas hotels on the strip. On the plus Downtown doesn't have the inflated prices of the Strip either (not just talking hotel rates) as prices for lunch, dinner, soda, snacks, etc, etc have really increased over the last few years.
