Priceline Hotel: 4* Salt Lake City Downtown

I tried to get a 4* in downtown SLC for the night of 1/25. Started bidding at $57. Increased bidding by $2 increments. My last bid was $79. Still no luck. Any tips?

Rates for the four star properties in SLC do seem on the high side for this date - maybe a convention or other event going on. HOTWIRE does have a 4* in SLC Downtown (fitness, restaurant, business, 'net, pool) for $83, which I'm guessing may be Little America (which is $99 on Expedia)

Little America is 3.5* on PRICELINE; I'd suggest starting lower ($60) and working higher towards a max of $80 for the 3.5* level in the SLC Downtown zone to see if a hotel will accept at the 3.5* level.

Or, you can continue higher for a 4*, but it may take quite a bit higher, as it does look like something's going on in the area during this time period.
