doade101 Posted January 20, 2011 Author Report Posted January 20, 2011 I'm looking at an area where PRICELINE only has one 3* hotel listed in the "browse hotel" - full price section. Should I assume that I will get the same hotel bidding 3* in the same area? If so how much should I bid off the rack rate?I bid $45 for a 3* on PRICELINE with no luck. I will try again tomorrow and post results on the priceline forum.
yellowdog Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 doade101Please keep all posts regarding your stay in this thread.I'm looking at an area where PRICELINE only has one 3* hotel listed in the "browse hotel" - full price section. Should I assume that I will get the same hotel bidding 3* in the same area? No, this is two diffrent things. Sure, this is a small zone so one could speculate about this and most of the hotels there are lower rated. But never take this for granted. For more info see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
doade101 Posted January 22, 2011 Author Report Posted January 22, 2011 I bid $55 for a 3* in Lake Charles last night and was denied again. I'm going to go for $65 tonight and see what happens. The only other 3* (besides casinos) any site shows is comfort suites. Comfort suites is rated 2* on priceline. Would the priceline bidding rate the hotels differently? Would priceline possibly put me in the comfort suites even though their retail star rating is 2*?
AaronJB Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 The star rating on both sides are the same, although some properties on the retail side may not participate on the bidding side.Good luck with your next round of bidding and thank you for keeping us updated. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
doade101 Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Did not end up booking through hotwire or priceline...
thereuare Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Thanks for closing this thread with your decision. When you don't use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, it would be more helpful to others if you post what you did do for the stay... not just what you didn't.Please check for and use the links in our support page for your hotel direct purchases whenever possible.Thanks.
