Had previously bid to $90 on Priceline (total also $208) with no joy. Hyatt's rates was C$334! (also Marriott Pinnacle C$279, Sheraton Wall C$175 prepay).

It's a great saving though not the lowest prices seen on HW/PL - wasn't sure whether to bit the bullet or not. Last summer there were reports <$70 (mostly nearer the time) but my comparison rates did look high and there are clearly lots of people going to Canada this year.

Actually my money was on the Sheraton (someone reported the same amenities) given the low rate, and that might be a little nicer, but I'm thrilled with Hyatt - never had a bad experience at one. On check-out my car rental pick-up is one block away (Avis - W Georgia & Hornby)!

Anyone know if I've been charged 7% GST and if I can reclaim it (you can for a normal reservation).

Actually the Sheraton has different amenities than this... i think you may have meant the Marriott which is identical to this Hyatt.

I think you did pretty good as rates have been firming all over for awhile now, prices from a year ago may or may be relevant depending upon the region.
