Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help for Maui 2/25-2/27

I have a backup booking for $139/night at the Best Western in Lahania and am hoping to have a bid accepted at one of the resorts for just a little more. This morning I bid up to $165/night and nothing was accepted. Here is what I did

First bid

$140 in Lahania for a Resort class - denied

$150 and added Kahuli - denied

$160 and added Kahili- denied

$165 and added Wailea - denied

$165 and added 3 1/2 plus - denied

Any suggestions? We will be flying into the smaller airport closer to Lahania and for that reason Wailea is my second choice of location. I added the other two locations because there are no resorts located in those regions. I really thought I would snag something as it looks like others have had luck getting a resort at $145 and $150. My husband can bid too but we don't want to go over $165 and I am not sure that it would make much difference if this is my range and it didn't work. Maybe its timing? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

I have tried for Maui in March 2011 and I went as high as $195 and was unsuccessful. 2 years ago, we received a resort using priceline, paying $180 a night with resort fee. good luck

Any suggestions? ...we don't want to go over $165

If you've bid up to your budget there isn't much else you can do other then 1) increase your budget, 2) lower your star rating, or 3) wait it out and try again.
