grahat Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I need help getting the Sheraton Old San Juan for 4/27/2011 - 04/30/2011 (pre-cruise). I have tried bidding 3 1/2* San Juan area. I started with $65 and went all the way up to $85 in the last couple of weeks but have had no success. I noticed someone posted that they have the Sheraton Old San Juan yesterday for $80 so I tried again this morning with no luck.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

thereuare Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 With PRICELINE you can't bid on a specific hotel... you need to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. Are you willing to stay in any 3.5* or higher hotel for this stay, or is the Sheraton Old San Juan the only property you're willing to accept? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. grahat Posted January 20, 2011 Author Report Posted January 20, 2011 I know I can't pick the hotel. However, everyone who has bid 3 1/2 * in the San Juan area has gotten the Sheraton Old San Juan. Is it because I'm trying for 3 days? Should I bid Wed. & Thurs. and then do Friday as a seperate bid?
yellowdog Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 grahatShould I bid Wed. & Thurs. and then do Friday as a seperate bid?You have two problems when doing this.1. PRICELINE can upgrade you to a higher star rating.2. You can get a diffrent hotel when you split your bid like this and then you have to change hotel. How do you think arround this? Let us know so we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
grahat Posted January 20, 2011 Author Report Posted January 20, 2011 Good Point, thanks. My trip isn't until April so I guess I'll try again in a week or two.

thereuare Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 I know I can't pick the hotel. However, everyone who has bid 3 1/2 * in the San Juan area has gotten the Sheraton Old San Juan. This really isn't the case, if you enter "San Juan" into the QUICK SEARCH box in the blue banner at the top of the board you'll see there have been quite a few other 3.5* properties recently reported in this area (Embassy Suites, Radisson, Water Club, etc)While i hope you get the hotel you want, i'm just re-iterating that you're taking a risk and may be disappointed if you're expecting the Sheraton Old San Juan, as we certainly see other hotels awarded besides this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
