we are a couple who would like to stay near St. Stephens Green on June 17 and 18. Would like the Shelbourne for apx. $140 per night. Is this doable? Do you have any strategy for bidding?

St. Stephens Green is located in PRICELINE's City Centre South zone. However, you can't bid on a specific property... are you willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the boundaries of this zone? (or are you only willing to stay at the Shelbourne?)

I have stayed around St. Stephens green a few times recently for under 140 in the Conrad hotel. It's 5 stars and is the opposite end of the Green to the Shelbourne.

Recent 5* wins in Dublin South have mostly been in the Conrad. The Shelbourne used to be more frequent but seems to have dropped off the radar since Autumn last year. The other place we used to see was the Westbury. It also hasn't been around for a good while.

All nice properties, all close to St Stevens Green. You just can't be guaranteed the Shelbourne.
