Tessemieke Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Hi, we would like to stay in a nice hotel in the Midtown area of New York (preferably 57th street). close to a subway station. How should we start bidding and which price range can we expect in that period? I would like a price of 150/night, if necessary we would also accept a nice 3.5* or 3*...Thanks!Tessa
thereuare Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages... then click this PRICELINE link and reply to this thread indicating if lowest price or being closest to 57th St is more important. In other words, would you prefer a higher priced hotel near 57th St or a lower priced hotel, say, in the ESB zone. Also, is something like the Hudson Hotel, which is near your desired location but has notoriously small rooms, acceptable for this stay?Lastly, i'll add that at the moment $150 seems like it may be difficult for these dates, but we can try and take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.. Tessemieke Posted January 19, 2011 Author Report Posted January 19, 2011 The Hudson is indeed near our desired location. I just checked their website to see how small the rooms really are, but when I filled out our arrival and departure date it said that there were no more rooms available. Does this mean that we don't have to worry about being stuck with the Hudson and risk adding CPS to our bidding strategy and get a really nice hotel in the Central Park South area (like Le Parker Meridien :))We'll start trying to bid tonight. If we don't succeed, do you think we should wait some weeks or months and hope that prices will drop? Thanks,Tessa
