Hoj Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Hi allBefore I go and commit Mothers money I just wanted to check that I can do this thing (she's paying for our trip you see). We're willing to spend up to $100 per night to secure a 4* hotel in either Copley Square or Quincy Market.I'd appreciate your advice on a) which level to start bidding (and is my expectation reasonable?) and :) which hotels might it be? It looks like the Hyatt Financial is a strong possibility but all the Copley Square ones look like 3.5*. I don't think we'd want to take the chance of the Marriot Courtyard (not that I usually would discount them and have stayed at them before but we're after something just that bit nicer as its for 4 nights).Just to confirm, my dates are 10th May for 4 nights (I'm English you see, we do our dates the other way around). Thanks in advance.
thereuare Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are currently high for these dates and while you can certainly give it a try, i'm doubtful you'll be successful for a 4* hotel in either of these zones at $100 or less.HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Hilton Back Bay or the Sheraton for $105/nite, which while only rated 3.5* is well reviewed with a 95% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE customers and a 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating... if either of these would be acceptable might be a way to get a lower rated hotel within your budget and still 'know', based upon the reviews, that it's one of the better 3.5* hotels in the area.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Hoj Posted January 16, 2011 Author Report Posted January 16, 2011 Thanks for that. I am going to up the budget a bit for the 4*, then see if I can get the 3.5* and failing that might just go for the Hotwire price which is still a substantial saving on Hotels.com/Expedia etc. Will we encounter any problems in requesting a twin room once the booking is confirmed do you think?I have been using the links from this site.
thereuare Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 Will we encounter any problems in requesting a twin room once the booking is confirmed do you think? What is your definition of a twin room... two beds? double occupancy? How many guests will there actually be?Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
