atkins Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Coming over from Australia. Would like to be in MTE or near Grand central.Really like the look of the 'Library Hotel' - would this ever be likely to pop up through Priceline or Hotwire.Would prefer to be 4star but spend under $200 a night including taxes.Cheers

thereuare Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread, if you ultimately use HOTWIRE we'll then move the entire thread to that section of the board. The HOTWIRE hotel above matches previous reports for Morgans Ian Schrager Hotel so that would be my best guess for this one... the Mansfield wouldn't be in the ESB zone so i don't think that would be an option for this one.Would this work for your plans? Let us know how you'd like to proceed for this stay and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. atkins Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 Just concerned Morgans Hotel is listed as 4* not 3.5* like HOTWIRE suggest. Not a bad deal at $202 per/night including taxes or could i do better?
thereuare Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 It's been nearly a year since this property was last reported to the board at the 4* level so it's quite possible that it has been downgraded since that time.Even if not the Morgans (although i'm guessing that it is) it's a hotel with a 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating so i wouldn't be concered about quality or user experience at all.Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to "look behind the curtain". If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
