cait506 Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Hi there-Very excited to learn abut better bidding, thanks! I bought my plane ticket and am nervous about bidding on a hotel but feel it might be my cheapest option or enable me the best deal for a quick weekend trip to Miami. I have been exploring Priceline's bid zones and the South Beach zone seems to be great and eliminate hotels that are far off the beach and include a good group of 3 and 4 star properties. I am going to Miami June 10-13th, there are 2 of us and ideally I would like to spend around $150 on a room per night. The only thing I really care about is a pool! Since Priceline does not show amenities what do you suggest I do? Do I take the chance and make a bid for a 3 or 4 star property, do you think $150 is a reasonable bid? Appreciate your help! Thanks,Cait
thereuare Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! It's really a question of how much a pool is a 'must have' vs. a 'want'... if you're willing to have the possibility of no pool then PRICELINE will likely get you a little better pricing than HOTWIRE... if a hotel with no pool would spoil your trip then i'd go with HOTWIRE and choose something well reviewed and with a Pool icon.Let us know your thoughts and/or questions and which route you'd like to go... we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
