Dalm0m Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 DH & I want to go to AC for SuperBowl weekend. The rate for hotels is about $200+ for Saturday night but drops to around $50 for Sunday. I can't see bidding for 2 nights b/c to "win" the bid for Saturday, we're going to have to vastly overpay for Sunday. If I bid for Saturday only, can I call the hotel directly & pay regular price for Sunday without having to change rooms? :)

I don't want to bid for both nights b/c the price I'll have to pay for Saturday means we'll vastly overpay for Sunday. If we bid seperately, we might get 2 different hotels. If I bid for Saturday only after I win, can I call the hotel & just book at the regular price for Sunday without having to change rooms?
Dalm0m Posted January 14, 2011 Author Report Posted January 14, 2011 The price differential between Saturday & Sunday is enormous -- $200 v. $50. If we bid for Saturday night & win can I call the hotel directly & book Sunday in the same room at the regular list price?
thereuare Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 In most instances you can pair your two reservations... let them know at check-in that you have two separate but continuous reservations and if they can block the room for the 2nd nite so you won't have to change rooms. Usually you need to go to the front desk at some time during 'switch' day and in all likelihood won't need to change rooms, but there is a slight chance that you will need to do so.Given no sports book in Atlantic City i'm not sure just how big of a draw the Superbowl is (although i'm sure there are invite only parties for their top players), but i would at least try bidding both nites together first based upon an average rate for the two nites... many properties now average the rates making SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID unnecessary. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Romelle Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Priceline now does some averaging on its bids, so it wouldn't hurt to at least try to bid the two nights. Up to the average of $125? Worth a shot, IMO.I've had situations where I'd made reservations at the same hotel made differently for adjoining dates. I just explain at check-in and the hotels have not had a problem letting me keep the same room. I don't think you'll have a problem with that. Romelle
