Priceline Hotel: 3.5* NYC (Downtown-Soho-Financial District) Sheraton Tribeca

I am looking for assistance with booking a New York city hotel on Priceline. I would ideally like 4* and if possible for max $150 per night.

Do you know if the Tribeca Grand ever comes up? I am happy with most central areas. The priority being the hotel itself being decent. Any idea how I should bid? People seem to be getting the Grand Hyatt for a good price..

Also do you think it is worth waiting a bit longer as the trip isn't until June? I am also needing an airport hotel for 5 June as we arrive at JFK at 1am so I thought an airport hotel would be better. I have stayed before at the Ramada JFK using Hotwire but it doesn't seem to come up anymore (has it changed name?). Free airport shuttle would be a bonus!

Sorry if this is asking too much in one post - I am new to all this! :)

Please post only one stay per thread... we'll use this thread for your 6/6-6/9 Manhattan stay... feel free to start a NEW TOPIC for your JFK stay; although i'll add that unless rates are prohibitively expensive i would recommend just heading right into Manhattan once you arrive so that you wake up and get a fresh start on the day. A lot of times is wasted checking in to the first hotel, unpacking some things, packing up the next morning, getting taxi, checking into the next hotel, etc, etc.

I'll also add that, at the moment, $150 looks like it may be a tough win for these dates. Which zone(s) are you willing to accept? Lastly, you mention that a priority is that the hotel be 'decent'... as you can't choose/target the hotel you will receive on PRICELINE, you'll need to stick with star ratings and zones where you're comfortable with all the options (at least the 'known' ones)... or look towards HOTWIRE where you may have a little more control over targeting/avoiding a particular property.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Hey,

Just to update you I have been bidding for a few weeks now (between about $120 and $159 for MTE, MTW, Soho, Chelsea, ESB, Times Square) and ended up winning (today) the Sheraton Tribeca for $159 for Monday 6 June through to Thursday 9 June.

I am happy with this as it gets good reviews and saves me continually searching hotels. I think it is a pretty good price as I checked the hotel directly for the same dates and it came up at $319 per night.

I used the PRICELINE link from this forum of course :)

Thanks.
