hankp Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 Hi, I am new to this and need help. I am planning a trip to San Francisco in August and would like to bid on a 5 star hotel. Is this possible? thanks Henry Parietti
thereuare Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Priceline does not offer 5* hotels in any of the San Francisco zones... what hotel(s) are you looking for and consider to be 5 star? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
hankp Posted April 4, 2005 Author Report Posted April 4, 2005 I am looking to stay at, 4-Seasons, Ritz , Mandrian
thereuare Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 To date none of these hotels have come up on Priceline or HOTWIRE and are not believed to participate in either program. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
tmkls Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 2 years ago I got the Park Hyatt on a 4* Bid for $65 a night (one of my all time best PL deals). While listed as 4 and 4 1/2 * in different places, I consider it a 5* property. But I have not seen it come up on PL in a long time.
doppelg Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I've seen the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental (4 1/2 star) on Hotwire. It was pricey, though-- around $250/night.
hankp Posted April 12, 2005 Author Report Posted April 12, 2005 I am interested in staying at the San Fran courtyard downtown, August 3 to August 8, I will need 3 rooms, this is a 3 star hotel. EasyClickTravel travel had the best rate of $117 per day per room. How can I try to get this thru Priceline or hotwire.
thereuare Posted April 13, 2005 Report Posted April 13, 2005 You've gone from wanting the Ritz to wanting a Courtyard?!?I don't know of anyway to target this property thru Priceline or HOTWIRE.The MARRIOTT quotes this at $189/nite so the price from EasyClickTravel seems pretty good. However, based upon the drastic change in quality level mentioned above, is this the hotel you want or merely something that is in your price range and works well for your plans? We often see hotels higher rated than the Courtyard for less than $117 come up in the USE and USW zones.Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. hankp Posted April 13, 2005 Author Report Posted April 13, 2005 I wanted to stayed at the better quality level, but rest of family did not. The Courtyard is fairly new, meets needs ,pool, fitness center. Only comment I saw that was a negative was location . Any other thoughts. Thanks
Tripped Out Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I got the Courtyard though PL for $70 a night....5/25-5/29. Don't remember my bidding stategy but if you sift through the topics you'll find it.
