2* Hotel in the El Monte area $35/night 2nights=$80 total including tax

Got it on first bid, probably should have gone cheaper first. Just needed a place to stay somewhat close to downtown. I am getting a rental anyway, so the drive isnt bad. Parking should be free and it beats staying at a friends place in San Bernardino. Thats a long drive. Dont know if its a great deal, it is what it is and Im happy with the price Im paying for an ok, budget hotel. Thanks BB, I used the links at the top of the page. Love this forum.... :)

I ended up getting the Howard Johnson Pico Rivera on Whitter drive, by the I-605. I liked the hotel. Its compareable to the hilton lax as far as roomwise. The hotel was fairly new looking, the room was clean, and its in an ok-good area. Lots of shops/stores in the area. I would stay again. It was about a 30min drive to downtown at 9am.
